Panel 1
Time Stamp: 0:00
Naturally, Panel 1 should act as the introduction to the piece. The melody of the song gives off
this vibe of curiosity, like the beginning of a story/mystery. The image I get from this tune is
something awakening in a new world and setting out for discovery and/or adventure.
The focal point of this story, I feel, is a tiny robot awakening within a derelict factory. The look
of the robot is soft and round, a design that illustrates curiosity, yet innocence. Baby-like, but not
too human. Primarily, it should have big round LED-like eyes (though, perhaps it could have a
full LCD face, if that allows it to be more expressive).
Our protagonist is originally found on a conveyor belt in this derelict factory, though the most we
see in this first panel is the offline robot at the center of the conveyor belt. They aren’t
completely intact, but the robot creature should be shown to be far better put together than the
other two shown above and below it, which are either mangled or crushed underneath fallen
equipment or rubble.
The little robot is shown to not be online at first, but there’s a little spark that flickers in front of
its face and then its LED eyes turn on. It would probably work best if this panel is split in two, to
show the before and after of the little robot awakening.
Text Box: Sometimes it only takes a spark of new life...
Panel 2
Time Stamp: 1:02
Reawakening with new life, the little robot creature jumps off from its place on the conveyor
belt. The lights in its eyes unveils the darkness of the factory, revealing the cold colours of the
factory floor. Everything is very clearly manmade, but also old, rustic, covered with cobwebs as
if nothing had been touched for decades.
Everything in the robot creature’s surroundings is a very dull-gray-blue, saturated, and uniform.
The only differing colours are the robot creature and its glowing eyes.
Panel 3
Time Stamp: 1:53
On the little robot’s journey through the factory, it comes to a big crack in the wall. The factory’s
drab colour scheme is suddenly broken up by this warm sunlight coming from this rupture in the
wall. Near the end of the song, there’s this sort of wispy wind sounds, and I feel this is where this
should stem from. The natural world is creeping into this dull factory setting, the warm light
giving the parts of the factory that it touches more vibrant tones and more life because of it.
Maybe there’s also something in the scene to denote the wind coming from this hole in the wall.
The robot creature has ended its search, its eyes being drawn into the hole in the wall and
stricken with awe. It's now wandering toward the crack that it has found.
Text Box: to rediscover...
Panel 4
Time Stamp: 2:30
The robot creature is now standing in the crack of the wall, we see what they are seeing. The
bright outside world, filled with colour. There’s a look of what might have been a rural town
before, but now everything is overtaken by grass and plant matter. Trees have erupted through
the windows of what used to be houses, moss has overtaken cars, and creeping leaves and vines
overtaking walls.
A world that has been abandoned, and largely unkempt. The only living thing that we have seen
is the little robot, if it can be considered life.
Text Box: A forgotten world.
